Cycling: The Grandes-Fourches Loop

Yearly

The Grandes-Fourches Loop is a section of the Grandes-Fourches network, which connects to the Route Verte and the Trans-Canada Trail. This loop intelligently combines and integrates harmoniously with the city’s urban and suburban environment. Its 54 km reveal bucolic and hilly landscapes, but also a flat and wooded path, along the Massawippi, Saint-François and Magog Rivers. Two great stops are possible during your journey, either in the village of North Hatley or by the Lac-des-Nations Boardwalk. There are many attractions around the lake, such as the Art and Mosaic Circuit, the Photo Trail and the Marché de la Gare.

Our favorites on the circuit

1. Dreamland Park of North Hatley
For its breathtaking view of Lake Massawippi.

2. Centre culturel et du patrimoine Uplands
To live the experience of an English tea served by the staff in period costume as well as discover their exhibitions of local artists.

3. Chapelle St Mark de l’Université Bishop’s
For its 19th century neo-Gothic architecture, listed as a heritage building.

4. Strøm Spa
To relax after physical effort and enjoy the dock, the beach and a large terrace in full sun, on the shores of Lac des Nations.

5. Microbrasserie Siboire Jacques-Cartier
For a good Sherbière, a sherbrooke lager made on site and taste pizza from three Cantons cheeses, a real treat!
